Biography
Nicolas is a co-founder of Orchard Therapeutics and joined the company in October 2015, as the first founding member of Orchard's management team. Nicolas brings extensive experience in Commercial and Market Access Strategy and Business Operations. Prior to joining Orchard Therapeutics, he held positions of increasing responsibility in GSK's R&D and Commercial operations (2005–2015). Nicolas was responsible for commercialization plans for GSK's development programs in Respiratory, Dermatology and Regenerative Medicine. He played a key role in Business Development activities resulting in the acquisition of Stiefel Laboratories (2009) and the strategic alliance with TIGET (the Telethon Institute of Gene Therapy) to develop autologous gene therapy medicines (2010). In 2011, Nicolas was appointed Global Commercial Lead to GSK's Rare Diseases Unit, to oversee the commercialization of GSK's programme of autologous ex-vivo gene therapies. Prior to working with GSK, he has advised clients in the Fine Chemicals and Resources industries in operational effectiveness projects (1999–2004). Nicolas has a Master's Degree of Political Sciences from the Institute of Political Sciences in Strasbourg (France) and a Degree in Finance and Economics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva (Switzerland).
