John Colquhoun

Biography

John started his career in engineering with a fifteen month industrial placement during his fourth year at Paisley University as a Control Systems Engineer at Scomagg. He was involved in the design and installation of control systems for the Nuclear, Water, Hydro-Electric and Manufacturing sectors. After leaving University in 1997, John worked for MacDonald Air Tools which specialised in the design, manufacture and maintenance of pneumatic tools. He was primarily responsible for the electrical and electronic installation and maintenance of the diverse machinery within the factory which ranged from pre-war hand lathes to modern CNCs and included maintenance of their hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
