I am also an experienced Honours, Master’s and PhD first supervisor. My teaching, research and supervision are interprofessional and include the disciplines of: social work; public health; nursing; humanities; pharmacology; speech pathology and paramedicine. Prior to working in academia I was employed in the health and social care sector and I am a qualified social work practitioner. My areas of social work practice included: generalist and drug and alcohol counselling; child sexual abuse; sexual assault; family support and child protection; casework; groupwork; community development and health promotion. Additionally, I have been responsible for the development and delivery of adult education and training programmes in a range of community and non-government settings.
