Biography
Since March 2015, I have been a Reader in Research Development in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Keele University. This is a part time position, through which I provide high level academic support to promote research and evaluation capacity building across the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Prior to my retirement from full-time academic life at the end of 2014, I was a Reader in Health Services Research within the Research Institute for Primary Care and Health Sciences, Keele University, the Director of the NIHR Research Design Service West Midlands (Keele University Hub) and the Associate Director of Public Health (Research) for Cheshire East Council. I also held an Honorary Contract with Public Health England as a Public Health Academic (Health Services Research).
Research Interest
My research expertise and interests surround the design and evaluation of services and innovations for promoting improvements in the health, wellbeing and independence of older people. This research area primarily embraces community based services and innovations (offered by health, local authority and third sector organisations) which aim to maintain or improve the health of older people and reduce their needs for health and social care.
