Sean James Ledger

Biography

Sean graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy in 2009, following which he completed an MSc Advanced Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy at University College London (UCL) in 2010. He worked for the Cystic Fibrosis Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children between 2010-2016 as a Senior Paediatric Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapist and Exercise Specialist. In May 2012 he was awarded a PhD Fellowship at UCL, to co-lead INSPIRE-CF, a three-year randomised controlled trial investigating the longitudinal effects of exercise on lung function, exercise capacity and quality of life in children with CF. He was a visiting lecturer for the MSc programmes in Advanced Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy and Advanced Paediatric Physiotherapy at UCL. Sean will complete his PhD in mid-2017. Sean joined the School of Health and Rehabilitation at Keele University in August 2016 as a Teaching Fellow in Physiotherapy. He is a member of the Health Care Professions Council and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Sean's areas of specialist interest are clinical exercise testing, prescription and training in children with cardiorespiratory disease; Quality improvement and alternative models of health care; and e-Technology in physiotherapy.
