Biography
"Aileen McColgan, a graduate of Trinity College Cambridge (1988) and Edinburgh University (1989), joined the Dickson Poon School of Law in August 1991. She became a Reader in 1999 and Professor of Human Rights Law in 2001. Professor McColgan is a member of Matrix Chambers and is involved in litigation and policy work in that capacity. She is the British expert on the EU Commission's network of gender equality legal experts and has been engaged in extensive research into discrimination and harassment at the European level. She acted as legal adviser to the Forum on a Bill of Rights for Northern Ireland in 2007-2008 and is Vice-President of the Institute of Employment Rights and on the Executive of the Human Rights Lawyers' Association."
