Biography

Federico obtained a BA degree in French and Spanish from Bristol University in 1986. He went on to complete an MA in Spanish at Leeds University the subsequent year and was awarded a PhD by the same institution in 1992. He wrote his PhD thesis on the poetry of Federico García Lorca, focusing on the poet’s self-conscious production and relating his work to Modernist preoccupations and aesthetic modes. His first teaching position was at Glasgow University in 1991 and he held positions at Aberdeen University and Hull University after that. He was appointed to King’s in 1998.
