Biography
"Nicholas is a Solicitor, Advocate and Partner at specialist construction law firm, Fenwick Elliott LLP. He is also a Chartered Surveyor. He acts in a wide range of construction sectors in the UK and internationally, including general construction, transport, communications, industrial, process plant, petrochemical, and energy and is regularly listed as a leading lawyer in independent publications Chambers & Partners UK and The Legal 500 UK. Nicholas conducted research, commencing when he was a full time academic in 1994 until 1997 at the University of Westminster. He has despite working in a busy legal practice continued developing his research and has published various articles, papers and reports within the legal and construction sector. He is or has been a member of, or chaired various committees and sub-committees for numerous institutions either for the publication of guidance notes, best practice notes, training materials or international rules. He has also conducted Government funded research into construction dispute resolution. He regularly acts as a mediator in construction, engineering and commercial disputes, and sits as adjudicator on international Dispute Adjudication Boards and as arbitrator. Nicholas is a Visiting Professor for the MSc in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution at the Centre of Construction Law, King’s College London and he was also key in establishing the King’s MSc at the National University of Singapore and and an assessor for the Commercial Management MSc at UMIST."
