Biography
Dr Koula Asimakopoulou is a Health Psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council and a Chartered Scientist. She obtained her PhD in 2001 from the University of Surrey and since then she has researched and lectured both in the UK (Universities of Bath, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Roehampton) and overseas (University of Crete). She joined King’s College London in 2007 as a Lecturer in Health Psychology.
Research Interest
Health psychology: CBT for the treatment of dental anxiety, adherence, empowerment in health-care settings, patient-health care professional communication, patients' and health care professionals understanding of risk, cognitive functioning in and self-management of type 2 diabetes and chronic illness in general, psychology as applied to dentistry.
