Professor Oliver Black

Biography

Oliver Black read Philosophy at Cambridge and received his PhD from the University of London. He has taught at Cambridge and been a fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. He joined the department at King's in 2000. As well as working in philosophy he is Counsel at Linklaters, the international law firm, where he is head of the UK procurement law practice. Research Interest

He is the author of Conceptual Foundations of Antitrust (CUP, 2005) and Agreements: A Philosophical and Legal Study (CUP, 2012) and has published articles on various topics in legal philosophy, law, ethics, epistemology, logic and rationality theory, including a series of articles on problems involving infinite regresses. He has also published a novel, and another novel of his will be published shortly. His current philosophico-legal research project concerns reliance and its normative aspects.
