Biography
"Michael Singer came to The Dickson Poon School of Law in 1999 as a Visiting Senior Research Fellow and has been a Visiting Professor since 2012. Professor Singer is also an alumnus of King’s College London, where he obtained his PhD in pure mathematics. After enjoying a career as a mathematics professor with numerous research publications, he graduated from Stanford Law School and was a faculty member of the University of Pennsylvania and George Washington University law schools, teaching public international law and other international-law subjects. He has directed human-rights organisations and, as a legal expert for the Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, he headed missions to East European countries. He is a Fellow of the Cambridge Philosophical Society and a member of the California Bar." Research Interest
Professor Singer’s research is currently focused on legal and political theory and philosophy, with a work in progress to be entitled The Ideology of Representation. He also maintains his interest in international law.
