Biography

"Sheila Tormey is a Visiting Lecturer in EU Public Procurement Law at King’s College London. She is a solicitor in England and Wales and a Consultant at Fasken Martineau LLP. Her practice focuses on EU competition law and EU public procurement law. She advises a range of private and public sector bodies on EU public procurement issues such as the legality and transparency of award criteria, the ability to challenge award decisions before and after contract award and on procedures introduced by the new Remedies Directive. She has particular experience of advising medical device suppliers in the context of NHS tenders. She also advises on all aspects of competition law including merger control and the rules relating to agreements, parallel imports and conduct by dominant forms. Prior to joining Fasken Martineau LLP, Sheila worked as a solicitor at Simmons & Simmons, as a Principal Case Officer at the Office of Fair Trading and as a stagiaire at the European Commission. Sheila received her BA from Holy Cross, USA, and her LLM in European Law from King’s College, London.
