"ohn Uff QC PhD FREng FICE FCIArb was the founding Director of the Centre of Construction Law & Dispute Resolution and Nash Professor of Engineering Law; he retired from the Nash chair in 2003 and became Professor Emeritus at King's College London. "Professor Cees van Dam became Visiting Professor at King’s College London in 2008. He is currently also part time Professor of International Business and Human Rights at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and part time Professor of European Tort Law at the European Law School of Maastricht University. He is a London based expert in Business and Human Rights, European Tort Law, Air Passenger Rights, and Dutch tort and contract law. From 2004-2007, he worked at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law in London. Before moving to London he was Professor of Private Law at the VU University in Amsterdam. Prior to this tenure he was a member of staff at the Dutch Ministry of Justice where he worked on the new Dutch Civil Code, European Directives and international treaties." Research Interest
Professor Van Dam’s research interest are Business and Human Rights, European Tort Law and generally the impact of European and international law on the national private laws, particularly tort law and contract law.
