Biography
Tony Cates is Head of International Markets and Government for KPMG in the UK. Tony joined KPMG in 1987, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 and was promoted to partner in 1998. He spent a year on secondment to KPMG in Kuwait in the 1990s and has subsequently held a number of senior leadership roles in the firm as well as serving a wide range of clients from owner managed businesses through to FTSE 100 clients across a number of sectors. Tony’s clients have included BAE Systems plc, P&O Nedlloyd (prior to its listing and sale) and G4S plc, and he is currently the Lead Partner for AstraZeneca. Tony is married with three children and his interests include playing golf, distance running and supporting both Fulham Football Club and Surrey CCC as a season ticket holder.
