Biography
Dr William Hurst is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science. He obtained his BSc (Hons) in Product Design from Sussex University in 2007, followed by an MSc (Distinction) in Web Computing in 2010 and a PhD in Critical Infrastructure Protection from LJMU in 2014. Dr Hurst has over 40 international peer-reviewed papers published in the area of Big Data Analysis, Data Visualisation, Machine-Learning, Critical Infrastructure Protection and Computer Animation. In July 2016, he was awarded runner up in LJMU 2016 Research Spotlight Awards, for a project titled Facilitating Health Monitoring using Smart Devices.
