Biography
David Hughes graduated with a BSc and PhD from the University of Edinburgh. He undertook postdoctoral reseach with Prof Masayuki Yamamoto at the Univerity of Tokyo, Japan, between 1998 and 1992, sponsored by the Royal Society/Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and the Human Frontiers Science Programme. On returning to the UK in 1992 he obtained a position as a Group Leader at the Chester Beatty Laboratories, Institute of Cancer Research, London. He joined the Department of Biomolecular Sciences, UMIST, in 1999 and is now a lecturer in the Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Manchester.
