Biography
Born and educated in Darlington, UK, to a pre-university level. BSc in Mechanical Engineering at UMIST (1982-85),MSc in Applied Mathematics at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (1985-86), PhD in Mechanical Engineering at UMIST (1986-89), Final year honours options in Mathematics with the Open University (1989-90). MSc in Mathematics with the Open University (1991-95).
