Biography
Dr Amir Sam is a Consultant Endocrinologist at Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals and a Reader at Imperial College London. He graduated from UCL with prizes and distinctions in all pre-clinical and clinical subjects. During his undergraduate training he received a scholarship to study Endocrinology at the Harvard Medical School. His postgraduate medical training was in Oxford and London. He completed his PhD in Neuroendocrinology as a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College London. In 2015 he received the Imperial College President’s Medal for Outstanding Contribution to Teaching Excellence and the Outstanding Teacher/Trainer of the Year Award from Health Education North West London. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is a member of the Imperial College School of Medicine Board and has a number of leadership roles: - Head of Curriculum & Assessment Development - Head of Assessment (Years 3/6) - BSc Module Lead (Endocrinology) - Course Lead (Doctor, Patient & Disease
