Biography
Chrystalla is Research Strategy Manager for the Department of Medicine. She joined the Department of Medicine as Research Manager in 2010 and prior to this she was Research Coordinator in the Section of Investigative Medicine at Imperial, working with Prof Sir Steve Bloom. Before joining Imperial, she worked at UCL as Editorial Manager for the Autonomic Neuroscience Institute. Chrystalla read Biology at University and undertook her PhD training with The Renal Cell Biology Group at UCL. In her current role as Research Strategy Manager she supports over 200 academics in all of their research activities. She works with the Head of Department and Divisional Heads to develop and implement the departmental research strategy and ensures that administration processes are aligned to this. She coordinates major research funding bids both within the Department and in collaboration with external partners. Chrystalla leads the departmental Research Support Team that provides guidance, training and support to researchers at all levels with a focus on research funding and reporting. Chrystalla received the 2016 Imperial President's Award for Research Support Excellence.
