The HPRU is a partnership between Imperial College London, Public Health England, Cambridge University Veterinary School, the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and Imperial College Health Partners North West London Academic Health Science Network. The Unit was funded to bring Universities to work in partnership with Public Health England to support excellent health protection research relevant to the needs of Public Health England. Céire was previously a Lecturer in Medical Statistics at the UKCRC-registered trials unit at Queen Mary University London. Céire also holds an honorary research position at the University of Bristol where she was based from 2007-2013, leading a NIHR programme of research centred on primary care antibiotic use and antimicrobial resistant infection in the community setting. Céire's research applies statistical methods to address key questions in the area of antimicrobial resistant infection research. Céire holds a NIHR Career Development award, which funds a research programme to develop a framework for evaluating interventions targeting antimicrobial resistance (AMR), using routinely collected clinical data and novel causal inference methods. In addition Céire has experience in the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of pragmatic phase III randomised trials, and in developing the evidence base for the efficient conduct of such trials. Her teaching is mainly in delivering short courses in research methods, and randomised trials in particular, for postgraduate research students and research staff.
