Biography
I qualified with a BSc Human Nutrition from University College Dublin in 2012. Upon graduating, I joined the Nutrition and Dietetics Research Group at Imperial College and completed my PhD in 2017. I am currently investigating the impact of food and nutrients on colonic metabolism and gut-brain signalling as part of a Nestle-Imperial Collaborative. My research interests include: The role of colonic short chain fatty acid production in appetite regulation and how they signal to the brain The impact of spices and herb consumption on the composition and activity of the colonic microbiota and establishing a potential gut-brain signal
