Ian Garner

Biography

completed a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition followed by a Master of Science degree in immunology and allergy at the University of Nottingham. I developed a broad-range of research interests in, nutrient-gene interactions, cancer immunology and therapeutics, epigenetics and allergic respiratory diseases. In 2016, I completed my PhD research at University College London, under the supervision of Professor Robin McAnulty and Dr Christopher Scotton, studying the role of DNA methylation in pulmonary fibrosis. After my PhD, I joined Imperial College London as a Research Associate in Dr Fieke Froeling's group, studying the role of epigenetic mechanisms in pancreatic cancer. My research specifically aims to identify novel epigenetic biomarkers which may predict patient responses to specific epigenetic therapies, with the ultimate goal of identifing new epigenetic treatment strategies in pancreatic cancer
