Biography
Dr Baksi graduated in Medicine (MBBS) from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2000 achieving honours, having obtained a 1st class intercalated BSc degree in Neuroscience in 1997. He achieved membership of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 2004, as well as gaining a national training number for specialist training in cardiology and general (internal) medicine on the North West Thames rotation. Dr Baksi undertook his PhD studentship with the Cardiovascular Physiology Group at the International Centre for Circulatory Health (ICCH), NHLI, with funding from the Coronary Flow Trust. Following this, he was selected for advanced imaging fellowships providing subspecialist training in advanced imaging modalities at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and a CMR Fellowship at the Royal Brompton Hospital. Dr Baksi completed specialist training in cardiology in August 2013. Dr Baksi joined the Royal Brompton Hospital as a consultant cardiologist in July 2013, specialising in heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathy) and cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR).
