Biography
Dr Josefin Ahnström is a British Heart Foundation Basic Science Research Fellow. She is working in collaboration with Professor David Lane and Dr Jim Crawley in the Haemostasis and Thrombosis group in the Centre for Haematology. She obtained an MSc in Pharmaceutical sciences from Uppsala University, Sweden, in June 2002. The following two and a half years she practiced as a pharmacist in the Malmö University Hospital Pharmacy while performing pharmacokinetic research on the dosing of coagulation factors VIII and IX in haemophilia. In 2005 she joined Björn Dahlbäck’s laboratory at Lund University where she performed structural and functional studies on the newly discovered apolipoprotein M. She was awarded her PhD in 2009. She joined the Centre for Haematology at Imperial College in September 2009. Her current research interests include regulation of coagulation through the TFPI and activated protein C pathways. Dr Josefin Ahnström is on the editorial board of the Journal of Thrombosis & Haemostasis.
