Biography
Dr Kornelia Kotseva is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist to the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, based at International Centre for Circulatory Health London. She has special interest and completed a PhD in prevention and epidemiology of cardiovascular disease. Dr Kotseva was a member of the Steering Committee and medical coordinator of EUROACTION study - a European Society of Cardiology randomized controlled trial of a multidisciplinary prevention programme in 8 countries, aiming to raise the standards of preventive cardiology in Europe. She was a member of the Steering Committee and Project Manager for EUROASPIRE III survey- a European Society of Cardiology survey on the practice of preventive cardiology in 22 European countries and the British Cardiovascular Society ASPIRE-2-PREVENT survey on risk factor and therapeutic management in coronary patients and high risk individuals in the UK. In her current role she is Principal Investigator for EUROASPIRE III Health Economics study and Project Manager and Medical Co-ordinator of the EUROACTION PLUS (intensive smoking cessation with Varenicline) study in 4 countries in Europe. She also is a consultant cardiologist for the MyAction Westminster preventive cardiology programme.
