Biography
Myriam Gharbi is Research Associate Pharmaco-Epidemiologist for the theme "Applied data linkage, Syndromic surveillance and Modelling" at the National Institute of Health Research Health Protection Research Unit in Healthcare Associated Infection and Antimicrobial Resistance. The HPRU is a partnership between Imperial College London, Public Health England, Cambridge University Veterinary School, the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and Imperial College Health Partners North West London Academic Health Science Network. Myriam is involved in a range of research projects including work into behaviour change, innovation adoption, modelling, surveillance, epidemiology and microbiology all focused on tackling the issue of antibiotic use, healthcare associated infection (HCAI) and the increasing national and global challenge of AMR. She is also using her expertise in developing early warning and risk prediction for AMR in the trust and improving surveillance capability of HCAI at an organisational level, by working in close collaboration with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Public Health England
