Navaneethakrishnan Krishnamoorthy
Researcher
Faculty of Medicine
National Heart Lung Institute
United Kingdom
Biography
Dr Krishnamoorthy joined Imperial College in January 2010 as a postdoctoral research associate and currently an honorary research fellow in the Heart Science Centre (HSC) at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. He has been working with Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub, Dr Adrian Chester at the HSC and Dr. Sophia Yaliraki at the Dept. of Chemistry, Imperial College London. He is a molecular modeller, who develops efficient modelling methods to design customized biomimetic peptides to produce biomaterials and to enhance specific function of stem cells for tissue engineering applications. In addition, he is modelling disease-causing mutations in structural proteins to study molecular mechanism of severe genetic disorders. This exciting collaborative research has been supervised by Prof. Sir Magdi Yacoub.
Research Interest
