Biography
Gooderham is Professor of Molecular Toxicology and a member of the Computational and Systems Medicine Section in the Department of Surgery and Cancer, Faculty of Medicine and is the Director of the MRes in Biomedical Research degree programme. Nigel holds a number of external appointments including membership of the Expert Panel of the Flavour and Extract Manufacturers Association of the United States, is Visiting Professor of Molecular Toxicology at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi, Ghana and at the University of Malaysia, Terangganu. He is on the Editorial Board of Toxicology and is the Editor-in-Chief of Toxicology Research (published by the Royal Society of Chemistry). He has served as a member of the Editorial Boards of Mutagenesis and the Journal of Applied Toxicology. Nigel has served as a member of the UK Government’s Advisory Committee on Mutagenicity, is an advisor to the MHRA and a member of the MRC ITTP Funding Panel and Steering Group and former member of the NC3Rs research funding panel. Nigel is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and of the British Toxicology Society, a member of the Society of Toxicology (USA), the Biochemical Society and the United Kingdom Environmental Mutagenicity Society. He has held numerous offices within the British Toxicology Society including service on the Executive, Education and Scientific committees, including Chair of the BTS Scientific Committee.
