Rahul Bhattacharyya

Biography

Rahul Bhattacharyya (MBCHB (Hons), MRCS, MSc Surg) is a Clinical Research Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Imperial College London. He graduated from the University of Sheffield, School of Medicine with Honours. He was one of the top performers in his undergraduate medical degree and was awarded distinction in the advanced clinical competence examination. After completing his foundation training in South Yorkshire, he attained a place in the highly competetive 'run-through' training in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the ST1 level in the West of Scotland Deanery in 2012. He has also completed an MSc in Surgical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh and was awarded for the 'top most performing student' at the certificate level examination. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Mr Bhattacharyya is currently undertaking research at the Imperial College. His research interest includes the role of simulation in training future trauma and orthopaedic surgeons. This is in collaboration with the AO Foundation (world leading organisation in trauma education and research). Mr Bhattacharyya has an impressive track record in orthopaedic research having presented in numerous national and international conferences. He has also published original research in various peer-reviewed journals. He is a keen teacher and is involved in teaching on BSc/MSc courses at the Imperial College and organising and teaching on orthopaedic courses at the MSK Lab, Charing Cross Hospital.
