Biography
Richard completed a full-time Master of Research (MRes) in Experimental Neuroscience with the Department of Medicine (2012-2013), graduating with Distinction. He undertook research projects with the Computational, Cognitive and Clinical Neuroimaging Laboratory (C3NL), Academic Neuro-otology Unit and the Imperial College Neuromodulation Group (ICNG).Originally from Singapore, Richard obtained his undergraduate medical degree (MB ChB) from the University of Bristol in 2009. He aspires toward a meaningful career in neurosurgery, and prior to his year of research, had completed a Junior Clinical Fellowship at the Atkinson Morley Neurosurgery Unit, St. George's Hospital (2011-2012).He undertook his MRes with the important goal of obtaining a solid grounding in research principles and methodology in the field of neuroscience, upon which he aims to base his future clinical research.He was admitted a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS) in 2012 and commenced neurosurgical training at Charing Cross Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust upon completion of his MRes.
