Biography
Sara Yadav is the Head of Operations for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Healthcare Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance at Imperial College London. The HPRU is a partnership between Imperial College London, Public Health England, Cambridge University Veterinary School, the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and Imperial College Health Partners (the Academic Health Science Network for North West London). The Unit is one of 12 HPRUs funded by the NIHR to enable Universities to work in partnership with Public Health England to support health protection research. Sara also provides support as the Head of Operations for the National Centre for Infection Prevention and Management. The Centre is a UKCRC initative which aims to integrate infection prevention into healthcare delivery in a multidisciplinary and multi-professional way by looking at innovation adoption, behaviour change, new diagnostics, health surveillance and capacity building through education. Sara is responsible for all the functions involved in running the HPRU and CIPM including recruitment, funding, staff management, administration and reporting. Sara works with her job-share partner Juliet Allibone and both are assisted by the team secretary Rachel Wood. All three are based at the Hammersmith Campus in the Infectious Diseases and Immunity Section. Sara also works part time as Project Manager for the Centre for Medication Safety and Service Quality based at Charing Cross Hospital which collaborates closely with the National Institute for Health Research Patient Safety Translational Research Centre and Centre for Patient Safety and Service Quality; all of which work closely with the HPRU and CIPM.
