Biography
Stefano Cacciatore studied Biotechnology at the University of Florence. As a PhD student at Center of Magnetic Resonance in Florence, his research focused on developing of clinical diagnostic tests in the metabolomic area. He used Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and advanced statistical analysis techniques to identify and predict metabolomic profiles. In 2013, as Postdoc at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (principal teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School), his research focused on identifying metabolic fingerprint predictors of prostate cancer development and progression to improve our understanding of the mechanisms linking metabolism with the biology of prostate cancer. He worked on developing of new Standard Operation Procedures for metabolomic analysis in formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissues. Dr Stefano Cacciatore is currently Research Associate at the Imperial College where he is actively involved in pregnancy research.
