Biography
Dr Tom Wong is consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist, the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Hospitals, and honorary senior lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. Dr Wong received People of the Year Award in 1995 and Young Investigator Award from Heart Rhythm UK in 2005. He was appointed as the Clinical Director of the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories of the Royal Brompton Hospital in 2010. He has a special interest in the interventional aspect of the arrhythmia management including catheter ablation, device implantation and management. Along side the clinical practice, his research program is aimed to further characterise atrial fibrillation in patients who have chronic heart failure, and atrial and ventricular tachyarrhytmias in patients who have adult congenital heart disease. Furthermore, to identify the optimal treatment of these complex arrhythmias in these cohorts of patients who have advanced cardiac pathologies.
