Biography
Dr Xinzhu Wang is a post-doctoral research associate in the Section of Infectious Disease at Imperial College London. She received a BSc in Biochemistry from Imperial College London with 1st Class honors (2009), and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Univeristy of Cambridge (2014). She has conducted projects to measure and identify cardiac metabolic changes in mouse models of type 1 and type 2 diabetes using an array of state-of-art mass spectrometries. Subsequently apply multivariate statistics to large and complex dataset to detect trends, and together with complementary molecular biology and other techniques to elucidate possible mechanisms underlying the cardiac dysfunction in diabetic state. Her current research includes development and validation of new assays for antiretroviral drugs analysis to FDA standards and metabolomics analysis to monitor antiretroviral treatment (ART) efficacy in HIV-infected patients
