Biography
Carole is Director of the Centre for Health Technology Evaluation at NICE. She has a doctorate in Pharmacology and spent 8 years at GlaxoSmithKline Research working on the development of novel pharmaceuticals in various therapeutic areas. Carole has previously been involved in health technology assessment as Director of the Evidence Research Unit. She contributes to a number of international policy forums, including the WHO advisory group on Priority Medical Devices and the Scientific Committee of the Innovative Medicines Initiative. She is Honorary Professor of Health Technology Assessment at the University of Manchester, UK and past President of Health Technology Assessment International (2013 to 2015).
