Biography
The National Bacteriology Laboratory provides a centralised and diverse bacteriological service that is essential to the operation of NHSBT, and is at the forefront of scientific research with a progressive approach and close links with Public Health England (PHE), universities and international biomedical companies. My role is to manage the day to day activities of one of the teams in the National Bacteriology Laboratory. This includes Transfusion and Transplantation Microbiology, and an active Research and Development section. As part of this role I analyse, interpret, document and authorise specialist and complex diagnostic investigations relating to the issue of results for blood and tissue products.
