Biography
Clare Sanford-Couch joined the School of Law in 1994, after having practised as a solicitor for several years in London and Newcastle, specialising in Company and Corporate matters. Clare Sandford-Couch Joined the School of Law in 1994, after having practised as a solicitor for several years in London and Newcastle, specialising in Company and Corporate matters. As a Senior Lecturer, specialised in Business and Company law, as well as Contract and Tort. Recent teaching includes Legal History and Trials of Dissenters. PhD addressed an intersection of legal history and art history, focusing on late-medieval Italy. Research interests include legal education, particularly in relation to professional legal ethics, and the interaction of visual culture and law. Current ongoing research addresses whether legal education can be enhanced by adopting an interdisciplinary approach by including within legal education images and other forms of visual culture.
