Research Interest

Ginny Reed is concerned with contrasting different aspects of production including video, photography, drawing, installation and performance. Her art works and performances explore the accumulation and dispersal of everyday materials, highlighting the residues and remnants of ‘events’. Through an abiding concern with the idea of trace, she explores the relationship between the 'fixed and the 'live'. Utilising differing forms to capture performative actions, from digital video to pinhole cameras, it is the dissipation of materials/props and the dissolution of an event/moment that are of interest to her.
