Biography
My clinical nursing experience is grounded in acute surgery and critical care. I joined Northumbria University having spent five years working in a partnership post as a Practitioner Lecturer for Critical Care providing education and support to students and qualified staff across a variety of ITU/HDU environments. Since joining the University I have held a number of module lead roles including an international module delivered in Malaysia and a core knowledge and skills module for final year Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy students. I have also been a Programme Leader for the Adult field of Nursing. As a Personal Tutor I am committed to providing pastoral support and guidance to my group of Nursing students for the duration of their programme. Professionally I hold a long-term interest in simulation-based education and its inclusion in the curriculum, which has led to my passion for exploring new ways to enhance and develop student experiences in both the academic and practice settings using this teaching methodology.
