Biography
I received B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering with emphasis on control engineering from Sahand University of technology, Iran, in 2000, and the M.Sc. and the Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering with emphasis on power system engineering with honour from University of Mazandaran, Iran, in 2004 and Polytechnic University of Catalunia (UPC), Barcelona, Spain, in 2014, respectively. Since 2011, I have been involved in different research projects at UPC with emphasis on smart grid and microgrids. The research projects I worked on at UPC have been supported by Cataluniya Institute for Energy Research, Barcelona, Spain. Since Feb 2014, I joined School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Physical sciences, Electrical Energy and Power Systems Group, The University of Manchester, as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. Since May 2017, I started a new role as a Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate (under EU H2020 Credence project) with Dep. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University College Cork’s Environmental Research Institute and Marine and Renewable Energy (MaREI) Ireland Centre, Cork, Ireland. I had also a chance to co-supervise several M.S. and P.hD. students in collaboration with my Ph.D and postdoctoral project supervisor. It helped me to develop my management skills. I have an industrial background working at Borzouyeh Petrochemical Company, IREC, and MaREI research centres in Iran, Spain and Ireland, respectively. Since August 2017, I am appointed as an assistant professor (Lecture) at the department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Northumbria University, UK. I am an active reviewer of the several international journals since 2014. I was part of technical committee/organizing committee/session organizer of several conferences. My research interests include microgrid operation and power system analysis, distributed energy storage, hierarchical and cooperative control, optimal energy management systems, power system analysis and power system economic and operation, Integration of renewable energies in smart grids, and energy hub management system. Recently, I have been focused on demand side management for the sake of power system stability enhancement. I am a Member of the Technical Committee of Renewable Energy Systems, and also the IEEE Task Force on Microgrids Stability, Analysis, and Modeling. My research findings have been published in 2 books, more than 30 top field journals and more than 10 proceedings of international conferences.
