Biography
Saquifa’s doctoral research investigated the role of mentoring and social capital in managing gender diversity at the senior management levels of the NHS in Scotland. She was awarded the degree in November 2015. Before joining Northumbria, Saquifa taught on modules related to Human Resource Management, Management and Business Research Methods at Abertay University, from September 2012 onwards. Also, she has successfully supervised dissertation students. Saquifa is a keen researcher and has presented at a number of conferences including the Gender, Work and Organisation and the UFHRD conference. Her book chapter titled, ‘Gender, mentoring, and social capital in the National Health Service in Scotland, UK’ was recently published in an edited book by the Emerald Group.
