Biography
Principal Lecturer, Course Leader Bar Professional Training Course A senior academic on the BPTC, Ian is the principal subject coordinator for Civil Litigation. He also coordinates Landlord and Tenant, which is delivered as an option in the third term. As Course Leader he has general responsibility for the running of the course, including timetabling, liaison with the Bar Standards Board, staff recruitment and appraisal.
Research Interest
Ian is a member of Middle Temple and was called to the Bar in 1990. A Civil Practitioner, his specialisations included Family Law (in particular ancillary relief and the law relating to children) and the Law of Landlord and Tenant. In 1997 Ian joined Nottingham Law School and was jointly responsible for devising and writing the Civil Practice Course. He is an accredited Advocacy trainer, an Assessor in respect of Solicitors' Rights of Audience in the Higher Courts and a practising door tenant at Field Court Chambers, Gray’s Inn.
