Biography
Simon McDonald is a Partner in the Odgers Berndtson London office and leads the Government Practice. His focus is on recruiting non-executive and senior executive roles in Government departments, agencies and other public bodies. His client base includes the UK Government and international administrations including in Qatar, Ireland and the Channel Islands. Successful commissions have included permanent secretary and director general roles, Chairs and non-executive directors, including whole boards for start-up organisations and unique roles such as Chair and Chief Executive of Hull City of Culture 2017. Simon began his career in the public sector before working in management consultancy and has worked in executive recruitment since 2007. He has a first degree in Philosophy and an MBA and in his spare time is an enthusiastic sailor and hockey player.
