Biography
Professor and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, University Medical Center Groningen, University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands. Affiliated Professor (5%) of the Department of Anesthesiology, Ghent University, Gent, Belgium. Clinical and research interests: Prof. Struys’ main reseach interest is in clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics and drug administration technology, including inhaled anesthetics, target controlled infusion techniques and closed-loop systems. Additionally, he is working on the validation of various types of anaesthesiamonitoring and equipment and depth of anaesthesia monitoring.
