Biography
Dr. Antony Davies is Vice President of Process Chemistry. Dr. Davies joined Pharmaron in July 2016 with 24 years of experience in process chemistry and business process improvement. Before joining Pharmaron, Dr. Davies held the position of Director of Process Chemistry for Merck and Co. Inc. where he had financial, legal, managerial and operational responsibility for the Hoddesdon site development labs and the pilot plant. During Dr. Davies’ tenure, he oversaw the safe production of over 100 Merck APIs and 1200 processing steps. During a 2-year assignment to the US, Dr. Davies was responsible for the deployment of Lean Six Sigma into preclinical development as part of Merck’s corporate strategy. He oversaw process improvement projects that delivered > $25MM in cost savings over 2 yrs. Dr. Davies received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry at the University of East Anglia, UK and his MBA (with distinction) from CASS Business School, London. He is a certified six sigma black belt and a certified Prince2 practitioner. He is an author/co-author of 30 publications and patents.
