Yong Chen

Biography

Dr. Yong Chen is Vice President of Analytical Chemistry, CMC. Dr. Chen joined Pharmaron in April 2017 and brings 17 years of experience in analytical development, quality control and CMC project management. Prior to this, Dr. Chen worked for Wilmington PharmaTech, a US CRO/CMO company, for 4 years as Vice President, Analytical Development and QC. Before joining Wilmington PharmaTech, Dr. Chen worked for Abbott and AbbVie in North Chicago (USA) for 13 years in its Process Development Organization. Dr. Chen held several positions in Abbott and AbbVie in North Chicago, USA, with increasing responsibilities from Senior Analytical Scientist to Analytical Functional Lead under cGMP environment. While working for Abbott and Abbvie, Dr. Chen was the analytical project lead for late phase projects Zotarolimus and Elagolix. Dr. Chen was an Individual NIH Fellowship Award Winner at Cornell University in 1994 and a Robert Stein Award Winner in Process Chemistry at Abbott in 2006. Dr. Chen received his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, MO, and is followed by his Post-Doctoral Fellowship Training at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.  He worked at several US pharmaceutical companies, CROs/CMOs, and has gained global industry experiences. He is an author/co-author of numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals.
