Biography
Peter earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry and pharmacology from RFW University in Bonn, Germany where he specialized in lipid chemistry, membrane biophysics and biochemistry.Peter joined Genzyme Corporation in 1994. Development of drug delivery technology enhanced products are his major function as Vice President, New Technology Development. He has extensive experience in product development, scientific collaboration and project management. Engaged in and a regular speaker at pharmaceutical and biotechnology conferences as well as workshops for business executives and scientists. Peter has several publication and patents and is serving on various scientific and industrial advisory boards. In 1992, Peter started and developed Sygena, Inc., a start-up subsidiary of Sygena, Ltd in Switzerland. He built this business by utilizing his dual background in science and business. Genzyme acquired Sygena in 1994. Prior to working at Sygena, Peter was a Research Assistant Professor at Georgetown University. Artificial cells, blood substitutes, lipid based drug delivery systems were the focus of his work.
