Stan Heptinstall

Biography

 As Head of the Thrombosis and Haemostasis Research Group at the University of Nottingham Stan was engaged in extensive basic and clinical research aimed at understanding the function of platelets and other blood cells in physiological and pathological disease processes. His team also supported development of various antiplatelet agents such as ticagrelor and cangrelor. He also served as the Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University and, for many years, was the Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Platelets. Stan founded Platelet Solutions with the vision to make platelet function testing easily accessible with the aim of enhancing healthcare worldwide.
