Biography
have worked with several different organisations who provide either low-cost & general counselling services to communities, or who provide counselling services for specific issues or client groups. Because of this, I have experience working with a broad range of issues, including: Alcohol & Substance use, Addiction, Relationship problems, abusive relationships, Trauma & childhood trauma, sexuality & gender issues, disordered eating issues, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, as well as general well being/mental health issues. This has involved working with people who have various mental health diagnoses, such as OCD & Borderline Personality Disorder. Working with clients who have a specific diagnoses, has shown me that one of the strengths of my counselling practice is in helping individuals to integrate their diagnoses or thoughts, feelings and experiences, into a well rounded therapeutic way of working. That allows for the whole person, who they are, not just what they are going through, to be valued and appreciated in the therapeutic relationship.
