Erika Coletto

Biography

Erika Coletto's PhD project is mainly focused on a better understanding of the gut-brain crosstalk. She is having an interdisciplinary study approach to investigate the sialic acid-mediated impact of specific bacteria species in modulation gut brain activity, and thus molecular target to devise microbiota-targeted strategies for reducing brain disorders and disease. In particular she is looking at the hypothalamus and at the neurogenesis process function. The project includes investigation using mammalian cell culture and animal model.
